Hẻm (n): alleyway

Phố (n): street in an urban area or a city (very different from phở, which is the famous Vietnamese dish – “pho”)

Hẻm phố  is a compound noun describing the urban.

This blog first started as a thinking-out-loud space for urban potentials that would benefit Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Now, it is transforming into a platform of curated content that some Vietnamese young adults want to share and inform the world of a Vietnam different than its war-torn past.

While what we present will always be unavoidably personal, we collectively try to answer some questions that Vietnamese of our age will have to answer.

(1) What does it mean to be a Vietnamese in this era?

(2) What kind of Vietnam do we want to see and live in?

(3) What world models can Vietnam learn from?
